Passing of Karen Niederer

The NATC would like to send their condolences to the Niederer Family.  Karen Niederer peacefully passed away in March 2022 after many years of illness.

Karen was always willing to help wherever she was needed, whether it was at a local event or at NATC nationals.  While at the events, she helped with sorting the scorecards and loop set up along with her husband, Tom.  Her presence will be missed as many riders will know her voice as the volunteer announcer during the start of each day’s event.

Karen and Tom drove to most of the National Championship events since 2013 to support their sons Alexander and Andreas in their quest to compete for championships.  Karen was in charge of all scheduling and ensuring the bikes, boys, food and many more necessities were at the right place at the right time.  Being able to watch her boys ride and succeed at such a family‐oriented sport made her very proud and made all the long hours at the laundromat after an event worth it.

Karen along with her husband and sons started TrialStoreUSA.com, NATC Title Sponsor for many years, and worked tirelessly on the success of the business right until the end, it was her passion to design websites and create content for various media outlets.

Karen’s early departure from this world will leave a void in North American Trials, but she left many wonderful memories for her family and for her NATC family to remember.  She will always be a very special woman to many of us in the trials community.
